Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.

Two (2) years' experience in student services or working with military populations.

OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY:

The Military Advisor/NTC Proctor provides direct services to active duty and retired service members and dependents in an effort to aid student development and success. This position provides academic, personal, social and career needs support. The Military Advisor/NTC Proctor is stationed at MCAS- Cherry Point.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides essential student services such as admissions, academic advising, student records, registration and placement testing for military and military dependent students
  • Helps facilitate navigation of student services processes, procedures and policies
  • Ensures the receipt of all proper documentation related to admissions and enrollment
  • Receives and processes military documents to include tuition assistance vouchers, My Career Advancement Account (MyCAA) documents and vouchers, VA documents and other documents as required for in-state tuition benefits
  • Maintains effective communication with newly enrolled and prospective students utilizing various methods of technology
  • Informs students of financial aid probation/suspension statuses and special programs and financial aid eligibility
  • Provides comprehensive academic and career planning services for students, assisting them in the development of an educational plan that addresses their interest, skills and abilities
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with tenant organizations on military bases
  • Admits, administers and proctors exams for qualified personnel in accordance with policies and procedures of the National Testing Center, Marine Corps Air Station- Cherry Point and Craven Community College
  • Participates in appropriate committees and task forces as assigned
  • Performs other job-related duties and projects as assigned in support of the College's mission, core values and goals

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
