Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in public relations, higher education, business administration, marketing, or a closely related field; or equivalent. Two years of increasingly responsible experience in marketing and student recruitment programs.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of principles and practices of recruiting prospective military and veteran students, methods and techniques of educational program marketing, and techniques of student recruitment program development and evaluation.
Position Description
Recruit active military, veteran, and dependent students for the College’s academic, technical, and vocational programs; develop, update, and maintain outside recruitment contacts.
Identify and recruit military, veteran, and dependent students who are eligible for College programs; explain College programs, services, and related administrative procedures to prospective students; assist students in making applications to the College.
Identify and follow up on recruitment opportunities; research and collect recruitment-related data regarding the potential student population; coordinate with academic staff, student organizations, and alumni to involve such individuals in the recruitment function.
Represent the College weekdays, evenings, and weekends as required at community and outside organization functions including career days, special events on post, and conferences; meet with military leaders and veterans organizations to exchange information and answer questions; prepare and deliver oral presentations regarding College instructional programs and services.
Collaborate with management and admission’s staff regarding the use of customer relations management (CRM) software including creating communication flows to recruit prospective students by demographic and program groups, develop microsites for applied students, monitor all usage of the platform, and evaluate the effectiveness of CRM through the use of the analytics.
Assist in the development of recruitment materials and literature for distribution to potential students; make presentations to military units, organizations, and other contacts.
Advise new, current, returning, and potential students regarding College preparation and admissions requirements that include, but are not limited to: application assistance, residency information, military and veteran educational benefits, transcript review, waiver and transfer information, career assessment, and program information.
Explain policies and procedures of College student support programs such as financial aid, military and veteran educational benefits, and student counseling services.
Initiate and coordinate recruitment activities with those of other colleges, schools, FTCC departments, Fort Bragg Educational Center, Veteran-serving agencies and organizations.
Confer with and provide staff assistance and advice to higher level administrative management staff; develop, prepare and present recommendations and reports as requested.
Coordinate special projects as assigned such as Open Houses and other direct and indirect recruiting events.
Assist in developing, planning, and implementing recruitment plans and strategies.
Attend meetings, conferences, and other related events which target potential students.
Act as College liaison to other educational institutions, as well as corporate and governmental organizations.
Perform related duties as assigned.

Techniques of student recruitment program development and evaluation.
Methods and techniques of academic advising.
Principles of effective public relations.
