Minimum Qualifications

A Master's degree in Music or Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Music is required.  The Music Instructor must be a self-starter, team player, and a demonstrated ability to work well with others.  Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.  

Preferred Qualifications

One to three years of teaching experience at the post-secondary level is preferred (in face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online classrooms).  Experience with Moodle platform and experience organizing or producing music related events are preferred.  Bilingual is preferred.

Position Description

The Music instructor is responsible for teaching an average of 18-22 hours per semester.  Instructional duties can include teaching day, evening, and/or online courses in music appreciation and history, chorus, and piano.  Classes meet on the main campus and at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.  Responsibilities include—but are not limited to— on-site and online instruction; course development where applicable; serving as a faculty advisor; service in the College Transfer Advising Center; timely submission of reports; participation in assigned committees; participation in committee textbook selection; participation in required special events including faculty meetings, orientation, and graduation; recruitment activities; participation in planning processes; and adherence to achieving learning outcomes.
