Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Maintain a current Natural Hair Care Specialist or Cosmetologist License issued by the NC State Board of Cosmetic Arts
  • NC Cosmetology State Board of Cosmetic Arts Instructor Licensed
  • 3 years or more work experience
  • 3 years or more knowledge, skills, and abilities Natural Hair Care skill and techniques

Working in a Community College environment.

Position Description

GENERAL FUNCTION:

 

The Natural Hair Care Instructor manages the salon floor, client intake, supervise students, and work under guidance and supervision of the Program Coordinator.  Assist in selecting and recommending the ordering of supplies.  Administer Examinations, both written and practical. Accurate record keeping of student grades, attendance and clinical competencies.  Adheres to the rules regulations and standards of Brunswick Community College.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must be able to work independently at times
  • Must have excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Must be flexible, have a positive attitude and a willingness to work with other programs and instructors
  • Understand how to use Power Point presentations
  • Provide oversight for continuous deliver and instruction of course objective
  • Must be able to teach adult learners and maintain classroom standards of professionalism
  • Prepare course outlines, competencies, teaching strategies, and curriculum development
  • Provide oversight of NC State Board regulated programs
  • Must have a working knowledge of current NC Board of Cosmetology rules and regulations
