Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Equivalent to an Associate’s degree with major course work in information technology with networking concentration, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years’ work experience in IT or related field.
Experience in higher education, preferably the North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS).
A Cisco Certified Network Associate certification or three years’ experience with Cisco VLAN switching, routing, access lists, firewall IOS’s, and ATM/Frame Relay configuration.
A Network+ certification or three years’ experience in a networking environment utilizing various protocols in the TCP/IP suite.
A A+ certification or three years’ experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing various network devices including networked servers, UPS’s, and other monitoring/networking devices.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
Virtual Networking Experience a plus.
Fortinet experience plus.
Self-Starter.
Position Description
Description:
The Network Administrator is responsible for providing and maintaining reliable campus voice and data networks, communication hardware, and software solutions. This position is the point person for performing campus network installations, upgrades, and configuration changes. This position often works with campus constituents to provide customer service and technical expertise to address voice and data network issues. The Network Administrator also works with service providers to install new services and troubleshoot issues with existing services.
Receives general supervision from the Director of Information Technology.
