Requirements:
Associate's degree or higher
One year related work experience in an IT related field such as business analytics, cybersecurity, computer hardware and software repair, computer programming, databases, networking technology or network operating systems, web design or web development
One year experience leading or supervising either people or projects
A valid driver's license and clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications
Preferences:
Master's Degree in Computer Science, Education, or Training related area with extensive computer experience and/or experience in a related area
Previous classroom teaching experience
One or more up-to-date technology certifications in a computer related field such as computer hardware/computer software, networking, or security
Position Description
Job Summary
This position is responsible for the coordination of classes and the coordination and supervision of adjunct instructors for the department at assigned locations.
Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions)

*Recruits, hires, supervises and mentors part-time instructors at assigned locations
*Coordinates class schedules, room assignments, and scheduling of part-time instructors
*Evaluates instructors by visiting classes, reviewing lesson plans, observing classes, and reviewing student evaluations
Reviews and ensures that class records are completed correctly and submitted on time
Serves on college or department committees as needed
Attends professional development opportunities when possible
Assists with establishing goals and objectives for the course and selecting text or other classroom materials
Maintains communication with course committee instructors and participates in efforts to keep courses up-to-date and appropriate
Creates and develops new computer classes and/or customizes courses for continued support of the Non-Credit Computer Education Department
Completes annual applied benchmark project on an individual or group basis
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to exhibit good interpersonal skills and work well with others
Able to maintain records accurately and be able to meet deadlines consistently
Good organizational skills
Knowledge of and facility with technology and software including, computers, and web-based resources
Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects
Demonstrated proficiency and skill in Microsoft Office products, file management, and skilled teaching area
Able to perform normal duties with minimal supervision
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Demonstrates resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and a sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential
Maintains appropriate certifications in area or field of instruction
Able to utilize online teaching tools including Moodle and Blackboard
Ability to lift 40 pounds
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to work sites within Wake County on a daily basis
