Minimum Qualifications
• A bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or a related field with at least 12 semester hours in child development, child psychology, early childhood education or other directly related course work from an accredited college or university.
• At least 4 clock hours of approved playground safety training or must take within 6 months of employment.
• Verification of having successfully completed or currently pursuing NC Early Childhood Administration Credential.
• North Carolina Child Care Program Administration credential or obtain within 18 months from date of employment.
• Successful candidate must be at least 21 years of age.
• Two years of full-time verifiable child care work experience or one year of full-time verifiable child care or early childhood work experience and a North Carolina Early Childhood Credential. The experience must include some administrative responsibilities.

• Experience in effectively managing and directing Child Development Center.
Position Description
Oversee all aspects of the child development center including program development, supervision, budget, and enrollment.
Receives general supervision from Dean of Health Sciences.
Exercises direct supervision over Child Development Center staff
• Develop, plan, implement, and administer all aspects of program development, supervision, budget, money management, enrollment, and facilities.
• Evaluate activities and operations of the Child Development Center program; evaluate and ensure that operations meet the goals and objectives of the college and the needs of the student population; establish and monitor program evaluation systems and procedures.
• Participate in the development and administration of the Child Development Center budget; recommend funds for equipment, materials, and supplies; recommend staffing needs.
• Prepare various reports and correspondence related to assigned area; maintain files and student records.
• Recommend the selection of staff; train, motivate, and evaluate staff; provide or coordinate ongoing staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline and termination procedures.
• Oversee the smooth flow of the program and its adherence to the stated philosophy.
• Oversee the enrollment, parent conferences, parent education, and parent involvement.
• Comply with codes of all state and local governing agencies: social services, fire, and health departments.
• Serve on a variety of committees and study groups; research and develop recommendations related to the Child Development Center.
• Plan and develop with the various Allied Health Program and other appropriate curriculum, the schedules for student observations and participation activities within the Child Development Center.
• Provide direction and implementation for the development of enrollment, parent conferencing, parent education, and parent involvement.
• Oversee the care, safety, and well-being of all children in the program.
