AAS in computer integrated machining or related area or 5 years of industry experience within advanced manufacturing.

Position Description

 

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Functions as a technician performing a variety of classroom, lab, technical, and clerical duties related to the diverse operation of project AMI.

* PT up to 20 hours per week *

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

·         Maintain clean and safe shop conditions.

·         Perform general safety audits of equipment within AMI per the operating procedures.

·         Supervise users in an open lab setting.

·         Provide instructional courses related to AMI.

·         Assist with coordination of project AMI and recruiting events for potential clients.

·         Coordinate supply purchases.

·         Hire, train, schedule, and oversee AMI Safety Technicians.

·         Assist with the scheduling of AMI clients.

·         Ensure all project AMI safety guidelines and operating procedures are followed at all times.

·         Coordinate and oversee material delivery and project shipping within AMI.

·         Maintain Safety Data Sheets for materials utilized within AMI.

·         Maintain accurate records for projects with AMI.

·         Chair the AMI project approval committee.

·         Create a client/student-centered environment

·         Work toward operational excellence.

·         Implement innovative strategies to meet the needs of clients and improve processes

·         Interact with co-workers and perform tasks with the highest level of integrity

·         Work cooperatively with faculty, staff, students, and our community

·         Promote and support HCC's mission, vision, and values and promote and support coworkers in the most positive manner.

·         Must maintain flexible work hours to support the users of the maker space.

 

Other duties

 

·         May operate college-owned vehicles.

·         Other duties as assigned by supervisor, program manager and/or dean.
