Requirements
Education Requirements:
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) from a regionally accredited institution with agreement to enroll and complete an accredited MSN program within four years of hire.
Work Experience:
Required: A minimum of two years clinical nursing experience and a current unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse in North Carolina.
Skills:
Required: Excellent oral and written communication. Proficiency with commonly used computer software.
Preferred Qualifications
Education Requirements:
Preferred: Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) from a regionally accredited institution.
Work Experience:
Preferred: Post-secondary teaching experience. Strong medical-surgical background; long term care or geriatric experience.
Position Description
Full time 11 month position with the PN program. Responsibilities will include classroom, lab, and clinical areas. Position begins Fall Semester 2019.
Teaching assignments generally include day clinical and/or evening clinical. Theory is delivered with seated, online, or hybrid instruction. Preparation in teaching and learning principles including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation and willingness to seek continuing education as required by the NC Board of Nursing upon employment. This individual will be expected to actively participate in course/curriculum planning and design, development of student learning outcomes and assessment, and team collaboration for program improvement.
Additionally, faculty is expected to serve on college committees, advise students, maintain office hours, and fulfill all the duties and responsibilities of instructors as required.
