Minimum Qualifications
- associate degree in Information Systems or related field required
- three years’ experience with ERP administration
- experience securing UNIX environments
- UniData database management experience
- experience supporting Microsoft AD, Azure, and Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP)
- an equivalent combination of education and related work experience may be considered
- must have strong communication, oral, and written, skills
- ability to work cooperatively with other staff members during high demand periods
- must have good understanding of TCP/IP networking
- ability to maintain poise under pressure, and to work efficiently with frequent interruptions
- an understanding of and commitment to open access community college philosophy, and diversity issues
Preferred Qualifications
- bachelor’s degree preferred
- prefer three years’ experience in a Sun Solaris environment
- experience with Java and Unix scripting preferred
- prefer experience working in a community college environment
Position Description
The Systems Administrator is primarily responsible for systems administration and the support of database users of the College’s ERP system.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- administration and support of the College’s Datatel Colleague ERP running in a Sun Solaris/UniData environment
-
ERP database support; including, but not limited to:
- query and report creation
- file resizing
- index and file maintenance
- application and operating system patch application
- backup and disaster recovery
- system security
- Web Advisor support and administration
- limited programming
- system security maintenance, including assisting users with problems and special projects
- supervise computer supply ordering and maintain service contracts
- coordinate with NCCCS system analyst and UNIX engineer, to troubleshoot software/hardware problems
- maintain Middle Ware Systems used for online registration, payment, reporting, and ordering
Related Responsibilities:
- assists with user PC support in the evenings
- assists in preparing budget requests and project management for new technology upgrades and/or enhancements
- performs other duties as assigned by the ERP Systems Supervisor and/or Chief Information Technology Officer
