Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Has an appreciation for and knowledge of CTE programs of study and their value in strengthening the regions workforce
 

Advanced Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel

 
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and collaboration skills
 
Experience in budget tracking, analysis and report generation
 
Ability to communicate and address concerns in a diplomatic, friendly, yet effective manner with high-level college leaders, faculty and external stakeholders
 
Strong time management skills demonstrated by an ability to multi-task and set priorities within tight timelines with minimal direct supervision
 
Ability to work with high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve issues
 

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree

Two years experience in project management of large scale projects or experience with managing high dollar projects

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree

Experience administering large grant funded project

Position Description

This position manages the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Grant for the college. This entails working with the Chief Academic Officer, Provosts, Career Program Deans and Career and Technical Education (CTE) faculty for the planning, coordination, evaluation, and implementation of the Perkins Grant and college CTE programs.
 

 

 Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions):To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary job functions herein described. 
 

*Provides overall management of the Perkins grant project by ensuring that all requirements of the grant are met

*Leads and manages the Comprehensive Local Needs Assessment (CLNA) process as required by the grant

*Consults the CLNA and develops the annual Perkins Plan annually by convening input from Provosts, CTE Deans, CTE faculty, employers and other stakeholders.  In doing so, determines that academic divisions have established objectives and outcomes, identified program needs, planned expenditures and established timelines for meeting outcomes

*Continually monitors the progress of the Perkins Plan and ensures that the plan is followed

*Provides leadership and direction to CTE Deans and CTE faculty related to the required and permissive uses of Perkins funds. Develops and updates the college master Perkins budget. Monitors academic division spending and reporting to ensure grant activities are completed within the established budget and timeline

*Compiles data, programmatic, and financial reports as required and needed
Establishes and coordinates a Wake Tech Perkins team to assist in strengthening the colleges CTE programs of study and to assist with oversight, planning process and implementation of the grant

Promotes the development of services, activities, and pathways that integrate employability skills, academic, career, and technical instruction, and that link secondary and postsecondary education for participating CTE students

Works closely with the college's Financial and Business Services division and the office of Sponsored Programs to ensure all activities and related expenditures align with the approved budget in compliance with the NCCCS and US Department of Education

Supports the development of 9-14 pathways through collaboration with high school partners and industry

Attends local, state, and national training and meetings as required by the Perkins grant

Maintains all documentation required by the grant

Develops college stakeholder training, as necessary

Promotes continuous improvement by completing an annual applied benchmark project on an individual or a group basis
