Position Description
Pay Grade: Manager 9
This position is responsible for providing oversight and leadership of the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences Division. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES (*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

*Supervises and evaluates department heads and division secretary
*Provides leadership and direction for division department heads, faculty, and staff
*Provides oversight and ensures quality control for the Associate in Arts degree program, as well as general education courses provided by the AHSS division
*Informs the Chief Campus Officer of Northern Wake Campus about the operation of the division and apprises of challenges and opportunities
*Develops a division-wide institutional effectiveness plan
*Develops assessment plans for general education core competencies and student learning outcomes
Assists in the recruitment, selection and orientation of division, department heads, faculty and staff
Plans and conducts regular division and department head meetings
Facilitates department head, faculty, and staff in-service trainings and professional development
Collaborates with the Dean of Mathematics and Sciences to insure cohesiveness of the college transfer program
Works with registrar's office to ensure students are awarded appropriate transfer credit
Develops student retention plans
Gathers, organizes, and archives information related to division personnel, programs, services and resources
Monitors enrollment in AHSS division courses and makes adjustments as necessary
Assures internal and external collaboration and communication with students, other college areas, systems office, business and industry, community groups, individuals and other external agencies that support the mission, goals, polices, and procedures of the College and the Division
Participates in graduation exercises
Completes an annual applied benchmark project on an individual or group basis
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Leadership / management experience in a community college setting
Knowledge of College Transfer program and General Education assessment
Excellent human relations, interpersonal skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills
