Minimum Requirements (Applicant must meet all of the minimum requirements)
1. A minimum of a Master’s degree in any disciplines taught in the division, or a Master’s degree with a Bachelor’s degree from any discipline taught in the division;
2. Three years of full-time or equivalent experience as a department chair or administrator;
3. Higher education teaching experience.

1. Master’s degree in Engineering or Applied Technology field;
2. Three years of full-time or equivalent experience working at a community college;
3. Experience with Learning Management Systems such as Moodle or Blackboard within the last three years;
4. Experience with accreditation;
5. Experience managing multiple budgets;
6. Experience as a dean;
7. Proficiency in a foreign language such as Spanish, an East Slavic language, and/or American Sign Language.
Position Description
Job Description Summary
The Dean, Engineering & Applied Technology is responsible for leading and coordinating the activities of the departments within the Engineering & Applied Technology Division. The Dean assists the Vice President, Instructional Services in administering College policy and procedure and supports department chairs with hiring, compliance & accreditation, budget, scheduling, retention & completion initiatives, and other administrative activities.
Duties
1. Provides leadership for the development, operation, and evaluation of division program lifecycles.
2. Ensures division compliance with program assessment and review, program accreditation, Perkins, and SACSCOC accreditation standards as appropriate.
3. Maintains current knowledge of North Carolina Community College System Curriculum Standards and State Board of Community College Code.
4. Ensures that all programs have knowledgeable and active advisory boards with a minimum of one annual meeting.
5. Enforces College policies and procedures including the Code of Student Conduct.
5. Hires, supervises and evaluates direct reports.
6. Develops and manages division budget.
7. Assists chairs with department budgets, purchasing, and equipment maintenance.
8. Assists chairs with hiring faculty and developing class schedules.
9. Assists chairs with recruiting, advising, and retaining students.
10. Ensures accurate and prompt reporting from the division.
11. Communicates clearly with students, other faculty, and staff.
12. Communicates general education course and other specific course needs to the dean of the appropriate area.
13. Collaborates with Economic & Workforce Development and Continuing Education division.
14. Contributes to a safe and secure campus environment.
15. Attends meetings and events and actively participates on committees and taskforces.
16. Represents the college at community meetings and events as well as state, regional, and national conferences.
17. Oversees robust programming at College sites, including high school locations.

19. Strives to create and maintain an equitable environment.
20. Other duties as assigned.
