Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required in computer science, IT, instructional technology, or a related field, with proven experience in the Information Technology field.
Experience:
- 3 years’ working IT, data management, course management or related field
- Experience with web-based course management systems (preferably Blackboard).
- Experience in technical writing and/or editing of documents.
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic understanding of instructional design principles, practices and/or theories.
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communications skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts in non-technical terms.
- Excellent customer service and support oriented-approaches to interaction.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced, highly dynamic, team environment.
- Teaching and responsiveness to student and institution needs.
- Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage and meet deadlines.

Position Description
Examples of Duties
Create and support robust environments for teaching, learning, and discovery by providing highly responsive services that advance and support network-assisted teaching, research, and outreach.
Provide faculty consultations, training workshops, and other professional development opportunities and resources related to the LMS and educational technologies to promote excellence in online instructional materials.
Provide technical support to faculty throughout course delivery including how to successfully execute course copies, set-up of rubrics and grade center, and other LMS features as well as all campus supported educational technologies.
Create instructional videos and written instructions for the campus on procedures relating to the LMS, teaching online, and training.
Develop, organize, and deliver professional development for students, faculty, and staff in technology-based competencies.
Assist with LMS version changes to compare functions and features and anticipate potential functionality and compatibility issues.
Collaborate with FTE Auditor, student services, and faculty to investigate and resolve grade disputes related to student LMS participation, grade centers, etc.
Serve as backup for HelpDesk to answer email and telephone requests for assistance with portal/LMS access and issues, network login issues, and other technological issues related to supported technologies.
Work with the Director of Educational Technology to organize and provide technical training based on the annual professional development plan.
Attend staff meetings, vendor demonstrations, and seminars and workshops as needed for information distribution
Maintain current knowledge/skills in college-selected software.
Support and assist with departmental changes and initiatives as needed.
Work with Director of Educational Technology to maintain the hosted Blackboard Learn system to support online learning.
Integrate (plan, test and implement) new technologies, including Blackboard Learn updates and third-party products and building blocks to ensure proper functionality.
Work with HelpDesk to serve as an escalation contact for support issues, including interactions with Blackboard Learn and other vendor support services.
Monitor Blackboard system usage and generates reports for institutional assessment and data-driven decision making.
