Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution (some college coursework and
extensive work experience in customer service, technical and administrative and data support- related work may be considered with a commitment to complete degree)
Minimum two years of experience in administrative and data support-related work
Skill in the use of computers and commitment to using technology
Familiarity with MS Office 2007
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to thoroughly assess needs of individuals and exercise good judgment in decision-
making
Ability to work effectively and collegially with others
Familiarity with and appreciation for the mission of a comprehensive community college
Effectiveness in the following College organizational competencies:

Position Description
The Instructional Support Staff, Workforce and Community Engagement works collaboratively with the Coordinators/Directors of Workforce and Community Engagement, faculty/staff, students and the community to achieve the initiatives of Workforce and Community Engagement. The Instructional Support Staff member reports to the Dean, Workforce and Community Engagement and has the following specific responsibilities:
- Provides instructional support, including but not limited to the following:
- Handles communications (answers phone calls, returns voice mail and email in a timely manner) and interoffice forms, notices, events, etc. for faculty/staff
- Responds to phone and email inquiries for Workforce and Community Engagement
- Enters contracts for Workforce and Community Engagement part-time staff
- Enters registrations for continuing education students into Colleague
- Enters continuing education course setup sheets into Colleague
- Assists students, visitors, faculty and staff
- Ensures continuing education course packets, rosters and class certificates are complete and assists in generation of course outlines
- Maintains electronic databases
- Assists with American Heart Association Training Center tasks as needed
- Gathers data and prepares information for reports
- Assists in scheduling of Mobile Simulation Labs and Training Grounds
- Provides technical assistance and support, including but not limited to the following:
- Assists in performing general office support, including answering phone, sorting mail, maintaining office machines and supplies and filing
- Monitors and assists with web maintenance of course information
- Assists with purchase orders and e-Procurement process
- Assists with summer camp documents and mailings
- Assists with bulk mailings
- Assists in developing the annual Emergency Services College booklet
- Assists in posting course information on college and agencies websites
- Assists in developing marketing materials (flyers, save the date cards, etc.)
- Supports other areas of the School as determined by priorities and initiatives
- Participates in College committees, school meetings and events
- Performs other duties as assigned that support the College mission and initiatives
