- High School diploma or GED and at least one-year work experience working with I/DD Adults
- Current CPR/ First Aid Certification
- Current North Carolina Intervention Certification
- Valid NC Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
- Ability to deal with mental and physical handicaps
- Understanding of and commitment to the unique nature and role of education and skill development for adults diagnosed with developmental disabilities
- Candidates must be 18 years old
- General Statute 122C-80 Criminal History Record consent is required as well as fingerprint check if the applicant has been a resident of NC for less than 5 years

Position Description
PART TIME EMPLOYMENT / 25 HOURS PER WEEK / NO BENEFITS
GENERAL FUNCTION:
THIS IS A PART POSTION / NO - BENEFITS / 15 - 25 HRS PER WEEK
The primary purpose of the Day Support Specialist is to provide one-on-one services to qualifying participants that are enrolled at Brunswick Interagency Program. This individual is responsible for implementing specific goals as outlined in the individual Support Plan.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implements written goals from treatment plans with the participant one-on-one
- Reinforce target outcomes
- Complete documentation of service and submit to agency supervisor weekly
- Accurately documents participant responses during staff interventions
- Assists in the development and revision of goal plans
- Annually update credentials
- Daily communications regarding progress and work schedule
- Continually monitors and assists BIP participants with accessing the program during all organized day activities on site
- Assists BIP participants with personal hygiene and meals
- Contributes to maintaining high morale among all employees
- Participates on the program’s safety committee
- Provides 24 notice if unable to work assigned schedule

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be physically able to lift, carry, push, pull or other wise move objects, including the human body
- Must be physically able to push or pull a wheelchair to move individuals if necessary
