Position Description
In support of the overall Career and College Promise (CCP) program, which includes Early College (EC), assistant will offer operational support to the Career and College Promise, Stanly Early College and Stanly STEM Early College programs. The individual is responsible for a variety of administrative functions and good customer service skills. Position reports to both Pre-College/Liaisons for CCP and EC.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assist with keeping the paperwork organized for enrollments; uploading transcripts, ensuring proper paperwork is in place
- Assist with registration of CCP students
- Assist with processing registration for homeschool and out-of-county requests
- Assist with external recruiting events including (but not limited to) High School events and open houses, homeschool events and Career and Technical Education specific events
- Assist students with SCC application & follow up with students on SCC application issues at various high schools
- Assist with the preparation of the SCC summer CTE camps
OTHER DUTIES:
- Assist students with new student orientation
- Assist with processing Early Alerts and maintain appropriate correspondence with current students (e.g. performing a check-in with students, especially students identified as “at-risk” and on academic probation)
- Attend state and regional meetings for program updates and professional growth and to remain current with CCP operating guidelines
- Inform students of appropriate campus resources, e.g. Financial Aid, Supplemental Instruction, Disability Services, etc.
- Work with high school/college personnel to prepare information related to career pathways for distribution to students and parents as time permits
- Follow a communication plan to ensure consistent communication with students, faculty, staff, parents, etc. as time permits
- Collaborate with HS Career Development Counselors to facilitate CTE specific recruiting opportunities as time permits
- Assist with the development and maintenance of education planning/advising materials for all pathways as time permits
General College Duties
- Maintain a collaborative working relationship with college staff, local schools, community businesses, and local industries
- Promote career awareness and exploration, enrollment, engagement, and placement activities for CCP students interested in nontraditional careers as time permits
- Regularly utilize campus’ electronic media including, but not limited to, email, Self Service, Datatel/Colleague, and the Learning Management System (LMS)
- Perform other duties as assigned.
