Position Description
Part-time position will assist with development and establishment of internship, registered apprenticeships, and work based learning sites for AWESM programs and students.
The position specifically works with the following programs:
- Computer-Integrated Machining
- Industrial Systems Technology
- Mechanical Engineering Technology
- Mechatronics Engineering Technology
- Welding Technology
Coordinate with Apprenticeship implementer and local business/industry, chamber of commerce and work force board to develop new apprenticeships and cultivate future apprentices.
Partner with faculty and staff to raise awareness of apprenticeship and work based learning opportunities. Help students and companies to ensure successful completion of these opportunities.
Promote the success of the college by participating in standing committees and following college professional and ethical guidelines.
Maintain accurate records such as budget, information for planning, and other important data and submit reports according to college policies
Example of Duties:
- Hold apprenticeship interest meetings.
- Organize pre-apprenticeship opportunities.
- Assist with Job fairs with focus on apprenticeship.
- Partner with the Alamance Chamber to promote apprenticeship
- Partner with area high schools to promote apprenticeship.
- Partner with ApprenticeshipNC to develop apprenticeship.
- Attend department meetings and division meetings, as needed
Direct students to appropriate campus resources when needed (Financial Aid, Disability Services, Student Success Center, etc.)
