Education Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree
Experience Minimum: A minimum of two (2) years Radiography clinical experience, management and supervision, in-service education, etc. in a hospital environment. Documents one (1) year experience as an instructor in a JRCERT-accredited program with proficiency in curriculum development, supervision, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising. Previous teaching experience.
Experience Preferred: Previous advanced clinical experiences (beyond 5 years).

Position Description
Summary
Under the supervision of the Department Chair of Imaging, the Radiography Clinical Coordinator will plan and coordinate clinical components of the Radiography Program. This position will provide clinical leadership and supervision for the program and will correlate class and clinical components of the curriculum. The coordinator will collaborate with program clinical affiliates, clinical faculty, and students to enhance the Radiography Program and Johnston Community College.
Knowledge & Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum and learning resources.
- Coordinates, plans, and evaluates the clinical aspect of the Radiography Program curriculum.
- Performs site visits and collaborates with all clinical agencies while providing supervision, administration, and coordination of the clinical instructional faculty.
- Maintains calendar of clinical site visits.
- Collaborates with the Program Director in all aspects of the Radiography Program to include program evaluation and assessment and maintaining JRCERT standards for the program.
- Teaches courses in the Radiography Program curriculum as deemed necessary.
- Maintains JRCERT accreditation standards for program specific curriculum.
- Maintains program records and student files in collaboration with the Program Director.
- Participates in the development of course outlines and overviews.
- Evaluates student learning.
- Participates in development, evaluation, and implementation of departmental policies and the annual departmental plan.
- Recruits and fosters retention of students.
- Maintains current knowledge of the radiography profession and education methodologies.
- Serves on various College and professional committees.
- Stays abreast of initiatives that are progressive, timely, and in step with demographic/technological/legislative changes impacting the program.
- Maintains hours in accordance with the College workload policy.
- Participates in student advising as needed.
- Attends Faculty and Radiography Advisory Committee meetings.
- Provides quality care for patients involved in selected learning experiences within the guidelines of the ARRT Standards of Ethics.
- Contributes to effective relationships between the College and affiliating health service agencies.
- Complies with all requirements of the health service agencies to include immunizations.
- Participates in Department and College graduation ceremonies.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Department Chair of Imaging Programs and/or the Associate Vice President of Health Wellness & Human Services.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervision of students and clinical faculty is required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Required: Current ARRT Certification in Radiography
- Healthcare Provider CPR-Adult, Infant, and Child
Language Skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills are required.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to perform basic math computations including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and averaging all units of measure. Ability to compute fractions, percentages and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to use effective critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully an individual should be proficient in digital radiography and PACS. Proficiency in using a Windows environment and have knowledge of email systems, PowerPoint, Blackboard and online lab environments are also required.
