Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in Information Systems; and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to speak Spanish preferred.
Position Description
Overseeing network architecture and infrastructure
Monitoring and troubleshooting wired and wireless network switching and routing hardware and devices
Administering various network security tools – firewall, malware protection, DNS proxy, IDS/IPS etc. and respond to incidents
Configuring VLAN, IP, VPN settings and services, and maintaining an acceptable policy for data exchange that follows NCCCS standards for data labelling and security
Utilize DHCP, DNS and SMTP services
Oversees AD and related directory services
Provide SaaS support of email messaging, video conferencing, and collaboration systems
Collaborate on design of on-premises data center services and VPC environment
Management of college service relationships related to networking and cyber security
Provides support for the Document Imaging server and service (Etrieve)
Support the college IP Phone system (outsourced service)
Assist instructors, student, administration, and staff with technical questions and/or problems.
Research & remediate security threats.
Manage and configure DNS filtering technologies.
Research, oversee, and plan technology projects.
Manage active directory and network directory structures reflecting organizational needs.
Help create and maintain disaster recovery plans congruent with the college’s information systems disaster recovery plan.
SECONDARY DUTIES include the following.
Secondary responsibility for management of college service relationships related to Colleague
Pursue professional development activities to enhance job skills and knowledge, as agreed upon by employee and supervisor
Comply with the College’s policies and procedures
Security patching for select enterprise services and servers as needed
Secondary responsibility for general data center duties such as server provisioning
Assist other IT staff in client troubleshooting and the installation of client software and hardware
Maintain up-to-date knowledge in areas related to security and networking best practices
Assists in the creation and maintenance of a disaster recovery plan
Assist in maintenance of data closets across the campus
Other duties may be assigned.
