Position Description

The Executive Director of Institutional Research and Planning provides leadership for the institutional effectiveness and continuous improvement activities of the college. Responsibilities include institutional research, institutional strategic planning, management of the College's planning and evaluation processes, assessment, and the preparation of plans and reports related to institutional effectiveness. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: provide leadership to the College's divisions/departments/programs in support of institutional research and reporting update the annual online planning system and planning guidelines publish the Institutional Effectiveness Plan and Assessment documents provide leadership and resources for comprehensive program reviews for all educational programs, both curriculum and continuing education; develop and publish program reviews in accordance with the three year cyclical timetable report and provide information to administration for identifying major issues and priorities utilizing EMSI, enrollment trends, student transfers, survey data, and other relevant information ensure that Critical Success Factors are updated in both printed and on-line College materials conduct institutional research coordinate, prepare and submit data for local, state, and federal reports in a timely manner oversee programmatic learning outcomes assessment, general education assessment and the assessment of the College’s Quality Enhancement Plan ensure the timely submission of all IPEDS reports, perform the duties of IPEDS key holder and, complete specific IE related IPEDS reports prepare annual SACSCOC reports supervise and train staff within the Institutional Research and Planning Department develop and maintain databases for various research and planning purposes Related Responsibilities: maintain Institutional Research and Planning webpage oversee the process of student evaluation of instructors provide support, coordinate and train personnel in the use of the College's planning system maintain files and archives of accreditation documents Surroundings/Environment: Standard office environment, usually indoors away from the elements, with moderate noise. Physical Effort: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to maintain a stationary position for an extended period; move about the office, operate and position computers and files, as needed; and frequently communicate with others. The employee may occasionally move up to 15 pounds. Scheduling: This is a full time position. Normal working hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; however, must be able to work a flexible schedule, with day, evening and weekend hours as job duties demand. Travel: Local travel is required, including between campus locations. Regional and out of state travel is limited, but may be required for special trainings/conferences.
