Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in education, school administration, business administration, or public administration from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of responsible administrative experience in an education environment at the local, state, or federal level; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Three years of experience leading programs serving student with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Position Description
Planning & Development of Training Pathways IDD Learners resulting in micro-credentials or other credentials.
- Assess, research, and develop compendium of best practices for providing vocational training to individuals with IDD.
- Identify and provide training and technical assistance to pilot cohort colleges designed to design training pathways including outreach, marketing, counseling, financial resources, and that facilitate increased employment opportunities. Works with national, state, and local partners to identify and share evidence-based promising practices in the areas of curriculum/program design, learner supports, andragogy, sustaining student support services, and responsive pedagogy for IDD learners.
- Serves as primary point of contact with pilot colleges for identifying, developing, and sharing effective practices
- Disseminates information to the community college system.
- Prepare annual report to include professional development, training and best practices, policy recommendations and cohort pilot college’s student data.
Program Management
- Oversee the overall IDD Training Pathways project, including tracking and submitting reports, contracts, agreements, and invoices.
- Manage communication with the pilot colleges and with other colleges/partners.
- Schedule and organize trainings for pilot colleges, both in-person and virtual.
- Work with Procurement and other Divisions to develop and execute services contracts that are part of the grant project.
- Provide regular reports on programs outcomes, challenges and milestones to VP of Strategic Initiatives, the AVP for College & Career Readiness, AVP for Student Services, AVP for Short term Workforce Development, and engage with other System Office or college staff as needed to keep project moving forward.
- Assist pilot colleges to map and develop training programs that earn micro-credentials or other credentials that lead to increased employment outcomes.
Policy/Procedure Development
- Identify policies and procedures that are barriers to achieving project goals, as well as those that further project goals.
- Make policy and procedural recommendations to leadership to better support IDD learners.
- Develop policies and procedures for review and potential adoption by system and college leadership.
Budget Management
- Manage the budget for the IDD Career Pathways project, including tracking expenditures, working with Finance and Procurement as needed.

- Expert knowledge of strategies to accelerate credential attainment.
- Knowledge of and experience in creating policy, programs that support diversity, equity, and inclusion and applying an equity lens to reducing educational attainment gaps.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with college administrators, educators, educational organizations, curriculum and/or program specialists at local, state, or federal level, and the public.
- Ability to analyze classroom, curriculum, program, or administrative problems and to recommend possible solutions; formulate and to express ideas on educational issues.
- Ability to provide training both in virtual and face-to-face environment to various levels of professionals in the field of education to which the position is assigned.
