Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience requirements:
- DANB Certified Dental Assistant
- Registered Dental Hygienist with Bachelor Degree in a related field. Master Degree in related field preferred.
- Background coursework in educational methodology or plan to develop background in educational methodology within one year of hire.
- Current Dental Hygiene License
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in dental hygiene and/or dental assisting clinical and didactic setting.
- Experience with NC E-procurement System The academic preparation must meet the requirements of SACS and any other specialized accrediting/certifying agencies.
Knowledge of:
- Principles and procedures of academic and institutional program development in relevant field
- Current trends, research, developments, and resources in relevant field
- Federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations as they relate to students and teaching
Ability to:
- Create effective instruction for delivery both online and in the classroom while maintaining compliance with ADA standards.
- Communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Work effectively in diverse teams, both within assigned department and cross-functionally across the college
- Interpret and apply college goals, policies, and procedures
- Maintain any relevant equipment and supplies related to instruction

Position Description
The Continuing Education faculty oversees all administrative and educational aspects of the Dental Continuing Education programs including (but not limited to) Dental Assisting Certificate, Community Dental Health Coordinator (CDHC), Dental Anesthesia, Dental Radiography, SPICE and Coronal Polishing.
Faculty member to provide instruction in assigned courses. Courses may be seated, synchronous, asynchronous, or hybrid. Maintain accurate records (such as attendance, grades, documentation for accreditation, etc.) and submit any corresponding reports according to departmental or college guidelines. Must be willing to travel to high school locations and work with high school students. Serve on various campus committees and/or as an advisor for student organizations. Teaching schedules may include day, evening or weekend depending on the applicant’s availability and course offerings.
This is a full-time, 12 month position.
Minimum Base Salary $4,553 month; $40,977 annually.
