Position Description
Sandhills Community College is seeking applications for a Full-Time Financial Aid Advisor- Customer Service Representative. This position serves as the primary customer service representative for the financial aid department and reports to the Director of Financial Aid, Jami Dandridge.
Job Summary
This position serves as the primary customer service representative for the financial aid department.
Essential Functions
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Greet and direct students entering financial aid
2. Answer incoming calls/monitor the financial aid email/process incoming e-forms
3. Process Income Verification Worksheets to include WIA, DSS, Section 8 Housing
4. Oversee the application, administration, and reporting of the Childcare Grant
5. Manage the Moore County Transit Services student transportation program
6. Routinely review communication plan and ensure respective communications are sent (Regroup, text, email, etc.)
7. Oversee the scheduling and instruction of students completing the FAFSA
8. Evaluate student Unusual Enrollment History forms to determine eligibility
9. Serve as primary contact for virtual student communication (Ex. ConexEd)
10. Process all incoming and outgoing mail
11. Assist students with financial aid forms
12. Oversee work-study students assigned to the front desk
13. Order office supplies and financial aid forms when needed
14. Maintain accurate and complete electronic files
15. Award students with complete files
16. Provide basic counseling on financial aid processes
17. Acquire basic knowledge of all other positions in the financial aid office
Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands or fingers, to handle, feel objects, tools, or controls, talk, or hear, and required to frequently stand, sit, or walk for long periods of time. This includes, reaching with hands and arms (regularly lifting and or moving up to 25 pounds), climbing or balancing, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close, distant, color, and peripheral.
