Minimum Qualifications
Required:
- Master’s Degree in Instructional Design or related field (e.g. Instructional Technology, Educational Technology, Education, etc.)
- 1-2 years of relevant experience working with instructional design and instructional technology-related projects
- Thorough knowledge of instructional design principles and pedagogical strategies
- Experience with creating instructional material for professional development courses
- Experience consulting with instructors and/or subject matter experts in analyzing course design and identifying areas of improvement
- Experience with Learning Management Systems such as Moodle
- Ability to work independently or in teams, collaborate with others, lead projects, and provide excellent support service to constituents and stakeholders (e.g., faculty, staff)
Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with applying Quality Matters rubric
- Experience with content authoring tools such as Camtasia and SoftChalk
- Experience with synchronous tools such as Zoom and Collaborate
- Familiarity with Open Educational Resources
- Proficiency in creating instructional products that incorporate audio and video.
Position Description
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
- Work collaboratively with subject-matter experts (faculty members from all subject areas) creating engaging online and hybrid courses that reflect online course standards.
- Work in conjunction with others in the Distance Learning Center, along with Academic Deans, Department Heads, and Disability Services to ensure that all students have immediate access to our instructional resources.
- Research and test the latest instructional tools and approaches and create training sessions (face-to-face and online) for faculty members that focus on various technologies, instructional design, and pedagogical best practices.
- Participate in the implementation and continual assessment/improvement of the course quality assurance process led by the Director of Learning Design
- Support faculty and staff in the implementation and infusion of new teaching technologies and strategies.
- Provide frontline user support to students and faculty and troubleshooting for learning management systems and other instructional systems
- Maintain sensitivity, understanding and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds.
- Supports the mission, vision, and values of the College and attends College events and meetings.
- Performs other tasks as assigned which support the mission and initiatives of the College.
