Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Two years' experience in a community college setting. One year experience interpreting standardized and placement test scores and statements. One year experience reviewing college level transcripts for waiving placement tests and/or awarding transfer credit.

Position Description
General Description: The Student Testing Coordinator, under the direction of the College Registrar, is responsible for coordinating and administering the activities associated with the college's placement testing, other college-sponsored tests, and any other tests authorized by a third party. In addition, this position analyzes data to maximize testing services and evaluates transcripts to determine appropriate course placement for new students.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:
- Coordinates and administers activities associated with the college's placement testing, other college-sponsored testing, and any other tests authorized by a third party. These include college placement test (TABE), High School Equivalency test (GED©), and tests related to specific courses, programs, or careers (e.g., Certiport QuickBooks Online Certification Exam, CompTIA A+, Praxis).
- Serves as our primary contact with Pearson VUE, maintaining our status as an authorized test center, and their own status as a test administrator.
- Completes and maintains appropriate certification for all tests to be administered. Ensures other test administrators also maintain appropriate certification.
- Selects, trains, and supervises a minimum of one (1) part-time test administrator, covering evening testing.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates testing policies, and procedures. This includes specific testing strategies and guidelines.
- Evaluates and interprets transcripts and enters related data into the college’s Student Information System (SIS).
- Participates in appropriate professional development to remain up-to-date regarding best practices related to primary responsibilities.
- Develops materials designed to assist customers with testing resources.
- Responds to student inquiries in a timely manner.
- Prepares testing site and ensures adequate testing materials are available.
- Welcomes and presents brief orientation to testers and prospective students.
- Assures proper security, administration of tests, and maintenance of confidentiality.
- Serves as data entry back-up for Assistant Registrar – Admissions. This may include entering and verifying admissions application data.
- Receives, reviews, and prepares testing data for technical reporting and analysis in a timely manner.
- Submits data for departmental or divisional reports as necessary.
- Collaborates with Registrar and other key college employees, to engage in strategic planning for the Testing Center.
- Monitors and maintains testing center budget.
- Monitors testing unit usage and orders additional units as needed.
- Identifies ways to generate revenue through testing activities. Works with external partners to implement plans.
- Other duties as assigned.
