Minimum Qualifications
A Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with at least eighteen graduate hours in Social/Behavioral Sciences, Humanities, or Fine Arts is required. Excellent oral and written communication skills; demonstrated skills in various computer applications, such as Microsoft Office products, spreadsheets, and databases; demonstrated skills in the application of instructional technology are all required. Have the ability to complete assigned tasks promptly with accuracy and efficiency and on time and willing to handle difficult situations as a mediatory when necessary are required.
Preferred Qualifications
Three or more years of experience in education leadership and bilingual are preferred.
Position Description
Duties include providing leadership in the Humanities, Social Sciences, and Fine Arts Department; preparing and monitoring budgets; directing annual planning and evaluation activities; managing academic schedules, faculty workloads, publications, and registrations; monitoring and evaluating current curricula and course offerings; actively promote student recruitment and retention initiatives; recruit, supervise and evaluate faculty; serve as an academic advisor; teach a minimum of 9-12 contact hours per semester; work with program advisory committees; and work on other projects as assigned by the Division Dean for Arts & Sciences.
