Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree.
· NRS-recognized teaching credential or the ability to earn an NRS credential within two years of hire.
· Minimum of two (2) years of experience teaching adult learners.
· Effective written and oral communication skills.
· Proven ability to deal effectively, cooperatively, and tactfully with students, faculty, staff, and administrators.
· Demonstrated ability to cultivate a collegial, collaborative environment.
· Personal and professional integrity which communicates a sense of mission, leadership, and ability to self-start.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
· Experience utilizing online learning platforms and/or Learning Management Systems.
Preferred Qualifications
· Master’s degree in Teachers of English for Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), Education, or related field.
· Experience in coaching, peer mentoring, and/or developing and implementing professional development opportunities in an educational setting.
· Evidence of a career that involves:

Position Description
Job Description
The English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Instructional Support Coordinator is a full-time, 12-month position located primarily on the OCH Campus in Monroe, NC. Under the direction of the ESOL Director, the ESOL Instructional Support Coordinator provides leadership in supporting instructional development for new and existing ESOL instructors. Additionally, the ESOL Instructional Support Coordinator provides language instruction to assist adult learners in improving speaking, listening, reading, writing, and grammar skills necessary to meet personal, professional, and educational goals.
Job Duties
· Provide assistance in the development, sequencing, implementation, and evaluation of curricula, technology, and educational materials used in the ESOL program.
· Onboard, train, and mentor full and part-time ESOL staff and instructors.
· Assist instructors with implementing, troubleshooting, and/or scaling up instructional technology.
· Develop and facilitate professional development opportunities for ESOL faculty.
· Manage ESOL Professional Development Canvas Course.
· Provide a minimum of 15 hours of instruction per week.
o Plan and facilitate academic and life skills lessons for English Language Learners using the NC Adult Education Content Standards and CASAS competencies.
o Assist students in improving speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
o Communicate course material in a positive and appropriate learning environment.
o Provide individualized, small group, and direct instructional opportunities as appropriate.
o Maintain required paperwork including attendance documentation, lesson plans, time sheets, and time and effort forms.
o Communicate regularly with intake, data, and assessment staff regarding student enrollment, attendance, assessment results, etc.
· Attend and participate in relevant local, state, and/or national professional development opportunities.
· Actively participate in College committees and activities.
· Demonstrate a high-level of professionalism, innovation, collaboration, and institutional commitment in all actions.
· Perform other duties as assigned by the ESOL Director and/or the Dean of the School of College and Career Readiness.
