Minimum Qualifications

 

  • A minimum of an associate degree with major coursework in office administration, business administration, accounting, information systems, or a related field
  • Previous experience in an office environment.  
  • Computer proficiencies should include Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint

Applicants must also have excellent human relations skills and be able to work with a variety of individuals (students, instructors, administration, and the public).  Good analytical skills, attention to detail, the ability to communicate effectively, good organizational skills, excellent data entry skills, and the ability to work with deadlines are essential. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Training and experience in student activities are preferred.

Position Description

This is a full-time, twelve-month position in the Student Services division and will report to the Dean of Student Services
 

Core duties will include the following:

  1. Manage the reception desk in Student Services, including greeting all visitors and maintaining the office’s online check-in platform. Will be responsible for providing directions and referrals, keeping the area stocked with college publications, forms, and resources, and opening/closing the office.
  2. Maintain the switchboard, including answering incoming calls and forwarding them to appropriate employees.
  3. Monitor the Virtual Chat Bot on the college’s website, including responding to all inquiries and forwarding requests to appropriate college personnel.
  4. Assist with Admission and Records/Registration activities including:
    *   registration hotline requests, including program of study changes, advisor changes, waitlist additions, and registration updates
    *   placement testing check-in
    *   registration and recruiting mailings
    *   transcript requests
    *   drop form processing
    *   application processing backup support
  5. Assist with scanning student records.
  6. Assist with room scheduling for college and community events.
  7. Perform other related duties as assigned.
