Minimum Qualifications

Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent. Candidate should have experience working in a people-oriented setting. Strong administrative, organizational and customer service skills important; a working knowledge of word processing is essential. Work experience and/or coursework related to accounting, bookkeeping, data entry.

Preferred Qualifications

Individuals with an associate degree or diploma in office systems technologies, business administration, or related field. Knowledge of office-related software. Experience supervising or coordinating the work of others. Work experience in financial aid or student services office. Experience with scanning and document management. Experience with Datatel. 

Position Description

Example of Duties

 

Duties include but are not limited to performing administrative services such as record keeping, preparing reports, filing, light bookkeeping, and general duties for the financial aid office.

  • Manage Soft Docs scanning processes including routing 
  • Process incoming scanned documents 
  • Maintain the Financial Aid e-mail box and calendar
  • Schedule financial aid advising and workshop appointments 
  • Aid in FAFSA workshops and/or students completing the FAFSA 
  • Assist facilitating paper communications, including initial communication with students (DOCTRC) and R2T4 (Return of Title IV) initial collection letters 
  • Create emails though Datatel for missing documents 
  • Advise students on acceptable documentation to complete file 
  • Assist in the packaging of aid 
  • Assist students with the financial aid process on the phone, by e-mail or in person
  • Initiate the daily download from DOE 
  • Other duties as assigned
