The Education Manager of the Community Education Centers and Summer Camps is a full-time 12-month position that is responsible for oversight of the Lexington and Thomasville education centers and DDCC summer camps. This person will promote the College in the communities and other areas of Davidson County. The position reports to the Dean of Workforce and Continuing Education.
Responsibilities:
Community Education Center Responsibilities
- Oversee operations of the community education centers
- Provide oversight for continuing education courses taught at the community education centers
- Hire, train, supervise and evaluate continuing education instructors
- Set up contracts, visit classes and audit class paperwork for courses offered
- Evaluate course data and track for program review analysis
- Develop and implement a growth plan for the education centers
- Develop and supervise self-support classes offered
- Work with other Continuing Education directors and coordinators to plan for classes
Community Relationships
- Work with partner agencies, school systems and in the community to identify needs for training and collaboration with Davidson-Davie Community College
- Connect with business and industry to identify needs for training in the service area
- Identify and coordinate classes in continuing education needed to serve the community and meet business needs
- Build and foster relationships with the chambers, agencies and businesses as a College representative in the community
- Represent the College as requested at events and activities
- Work in a team environment with other directors and College staff to identify and meet community needs
- Actively participate in community activities
Camp Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate all summer camp committees
- Provide oversight for all DDCC summer camps, including hiring, supervising and evaluating camp staff and instructors
- Work with parents of camp children to assure safety and compliance with camp guidelines
- Complete orders for supplies for all summer camps and facilitate purchase with the business office
- Initiate contracts for all summer camp employees
- Act as a liaison with marketing for new and changing marketing needs for summer camps and non-credit programs
- Collaborate with other areas on campus to build internal relationships and to promote summer camps and the satellite center
- Track expenses and cost of camps vs revenue
Other Responsibilities:
- Attend College meetings
- Participate on College committees as requested
- Promote College mission, vision and values
- Ability to maintain high level of sensitivity, understanding, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds.
