Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s Degree required in a computer-related field from a regionally accredited institution. The Operations Server Analyst will have 1-3 years of server troubleshooting and/or administration experience with demonstrated increases in responsibilities and accomplishments. Extensive knowledge of server operating systems, server hardware and VMware administration, strong problem solving/troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Position Description

Responsible for the installation, configuration, backup, integrity and maintenance of all server hardware, software, and infrastructure. Responsible for installation, configuration, backup, integrity and maintenance of all VMware servers and host that reside on the Server.    Also responsible for the installation, configuration, backup, maintenance and repair of software configuration problems on personal computers and network servers.

Essential Responsibilities

 

  • Install, configure, and manage campus network servers including hardware, software, virtual environments, and associated peripherals.
  • Install, configure, and manage new software packages and software upgrades on individual PC’s and network servers.
  • Create, manage, and deploy various server and PC configurations using Windows PowerShell.
  • Diagnose and implement solutions to resolve user and equipment problems.
  • Provide technical assistance in maintaining the College e-mail system.
  • Provide technical assistance with backups on network servers.
  • Assist the Network Administrator\Operations Lead in the assessment of procurement of new hardware and software.
  • Proactively and independently pursue solutions and innovations which further student learning and the mission of the College.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical individuals.
  • Serve on institutional committees as directed.
  • May occasionally need to be reachable via mobile device and available outside of normal work hours to assist in emergency events.
  • Participate in professional development activities provided by NCC.
  • Participate in College events and activities.
  • Maintain regular and consistent on-site attendance during normal hours of college operations in fulfillment of duties not inconsistent with the expectations for full-time employees and College policies and procedures.
  • Initiate and answer telephone calls and video conference calls.
  • Perform other duties as assigned which contribute to the efficient and effective operation of NCC.
  • Serve on various committees as assigned.
  • Participate in and support ongoing assessment, planning and evaluation to improve student learning.
