Minimum Qualifications
Education: Associate degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in human resources or a related field or equivalent experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Two years of work experience in an office setting, preferably in an HR office.
- Ability to use a multi-line phone system.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook
- Ability to use a variety of HRIS & related database information
- Excellent customer service, as well as strong oral and written community skills
- Detail Oriented and comfortable in a multitasking environment, with the ability to adjust priorities as the situation dictates
- Maintain a professional image
- The ability to protect confidential information is imperative
Physical Demands:
Moderate office work on a routine basis, requiring frequent sitting and computer work. Will occasionally require standing, stooping, bending, squatting, and lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds unassisted as well as walking outdoors between campus buildings.
Licensing Requirement: None required; Notary Public is helpful

Position Description
Carteret Community College (Morehead City, NC) is accepting applications for a full-time Human Resources Coordinator. This individual provides coordination and support for the College Human Resources Office. This position performs a full range of confidential and complex technical and administrative duties to support the College human resources mission which supports the overall College mission & strategic direction.

Salary Range: $34,311 to $45,462 per year

Duties include:
- Regular attendance during normal College business hours is required.
- Greet visitors to the HR building and direct to the appropriate resources.
- Support for the College’s Human Resources Office for tasks related to recruiting, new hire orientation, onboarding, professional development, benefits enrollment & usage, departmental purchasing, and other specialized events, projects, and communications.
- Use various computerized systems, software, and internet sites/software to complete assigned work.
- Prepare and distribute various reports and paperwork related to the human resources function: organizational chart, turnover data, bonus eligibility, SIR, IPEDS, etc.
- Post updated information to the HR SharePoint Site as directed.
- Assist with the preparation of departmental correspondence as needed.
- Other duties as assigned to support the overall mission of the HR Department, in support of the College mission and strategic direction.
- Serve on College committees and task forces as assigned.
- Attend required campus events including graduation, professional development, & employee meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned
