Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications
 
Education Minimum:  Bachelor’s Degree or higher with a NC Real Estate License and be a NC Real Estate Commission approved Instructor. 
 
Experience Minimum:   Three (3) years active full-time experience in general real estate brokerage, including substantial experience in real estate sales and at least one (1) year of general brokerage experience in N.C. within the previous 7 years.

Position Description

Plans, develops, and teaches courses in general real estate brokerage. Conducts subject area research, evaluates student progress, develops instructional plans, advises students, reviews, researches, and requests new materials, maintains records, and prepares a variety of reports as requested.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
 

  • Use course text, outlines, syllabi and other curriculum materials in accordance with college and the NC Real Estate Commission. 
  • Provide classroom instruction to college students through lecture, demonstration, and laboratory exercises, handouts, responding to questions and testing. 
  • Ensures that all necessary documentation is kept current and delivered in a timely manner. 
  • Ensures that an accurate and current materials are being used in the classroom. 
  • Meet classes as assigned. 
  • Maintain a strong commitment to quality teaching, student success, and academic excellence.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to present ideas and concepts orally and in writing to a diverse audience and adapt communication style to that audience. 
  • Translating College purpose, values, and vision into organizational action.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written material.

 Mathematical Skills:  

  • Basic math reasoning 
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  
Reasoning Ability: 

  • Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions and take appropriate actions, resolve problems using independent judgement and decision making processes.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to the team environment.

 
Computer Skills:   To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Zoom and Teams and other software as deemed necessary. 
 
 Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: 
North Carolina Real Estate Commission approved instructor.
