. Minimum of three years work experience in the construction industry, required
Preferred Qualifications
1. 10 Hour OSHA card, 1926 OSHA Authorized Instructor, NCCER Basic Construction Skills, NCCER instruction certification, preferred
2. Equipment Certifications (Excavation, Forklift, Scissor Lift), preferred
3. Associate’s degree in construction or related field, preferred
4. Bilingual in English and Spanish, preferred
Position Description
In support of the overall Learning College, the Construction Trades Training Instructor is responsible for providing a high-quality learning experience for all College students. The instructor will teach construction trades courses in Continuing Education and Building Construction courses in the Building Construction Technology Program; provide high quality learning opportunities that assist students in meeting their educational goals and career aspirations; perform instructional-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies, and procedures of the College. This position is a grant funded position with funding available for a period of two years.
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop course outlines and teaching materials to deliver the training demanded by the construction trades industry such as NCCER, OSHA, etc.
- Facilitate the delivery of courses in the Building Construction program each academic year
- Instruct a combination of traditional, internet, and hybrid classes (this includes evening and weekend classes).
- Provide input on the Building Construction equipment and supply budget
- Serve as an ambassador in the community for the Isothermal Community College and the Building Construction Technology program and Construction Trades Training.
- Responsible for recruiting and managing the construction trades training academy.
- Assist and consult with the Dean, upon request
- Other duties as assigned.
