Minimum Qualifications
An Associate’s degree from an accredited college with major course work in accounting or a closely related field; or equivalent.
Two years of increasingly responsible general clerical experience including one year of accounting clerical or related experience.

Position Description
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Serve as a primary contact for students and parents with financial aid related questions.
- Advise students and families regarding financial aid programs, provide good counsel, make good professional judgments, and provide quality service.
- Maintain current knowledge and understanding of State and Federal regulations regarding financial aid and student financing and interpret those regulations effectively.
- Participate in professional development activities to stay current in regulatory matters, current trends, and industry best-practices.
- Develop professional relationships with regulatory agencies, funding providers, other on-campus departments, and other educational institutions in order to facilitate the effective processing of financial aid and the delivery of exceptional customer service.
- Review Satisfactory Academic Progress appeals and exercise judgment for positive appeals.
- Coordinate, monitor, and pro-actively troubleshoot activities and functions within the Financial Aid Office which impact the accuracy, timeliness, and effectiveness of office operations and customer service.
- Research complex problems and discrepancies in students’ financial aid and/or payment records.
- Field requests and inquiries from faculty, administrative staff, and students regarding account dispositions.
- Administer financial aid award packages, input data, assign account codes, make any adjusting entries to assigned funds and accounts.
- Prepare applicable financial aid reports related to assigned area of responsibility.
- Answer questions, give advice, and coordinate with other departments and outlying locations regarding financial aid awards, activities, transactions, and related policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned and necessary for maintenance of timely and accurate operations and customer service.
