Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Associate Degree from accredited college
• Effective written and verbal communication
• Computer Skills (WORD, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university
• Experience with data management within the NCCCS College and Career Readiness Programs; working knowledge of Power Bl and/or NC E-Procurement is a plus
• Experience with Ellucian, ADVANSYS or similar NRS/LEIS data reporting platform
Position Description
GENERAL FUNCTION:
Under the general supervision of the Program Director, the Data Special ist for the Gateway to Employment & Academic Readiness Program (G.E.A.R.) enters and tracks student data within the National Reporting System to ensure compliance with WIOA Title II - Adult and Family Literacy Act policies . In addition, the data specialist maintains student files, prepares various reports for the director, and completes a variety of BCC forms .
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Enters and reviews all required student data in a timely and efficient manner, providing reports and recommendations to the program director;
• Maintains required documents, reports, files for audit compliance;
• Creates and enters instructional contracts in a timely and accurate manner;
• Assists with departmental student attendance tracking and reporting through instructor attendance reports and student sign-in sheets;
• Collects and enters initial National Reporting System registration data for all new students;
• Enters quarterly student class registrations in a timely and accurate manner;
• Maintains all required class files , student files , and electronic records accurately, and submits required documentation in an organized and timely manner;
• Assists team with departmental data collection, management, and reporting, striving to exceed performance goals;
• Attends required trainings, conferences, and webinars as needed;
• Displays excellent oral and written communication skills;
• Works cooperatively with students, instructors, and staff;
• Maintains confidentiality of student information as outlined by FERPA and BCC policies;
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the director
