Position Description
Under the supervision of the Occupational Healthcare Coordinator, the part-time instructor will teach Nurse Aide I and Nurse Aide I Refresher courses. With NC Board of Nursing approval, the instructor may also teach Medication Aide and Nurse Aide II courses. Courses are offered at all campuses in our service area: Franklin, Main, South, and Warren. Hours will vary, depending on course scheduling. Appointment to this position is contingent upon DHHS approval of applicant as a NAI instructor and background check clearance.

Essential Duties:
- Assist Coordinator with development of course outlines and descriptions for both NA/1 and NA/II based on any new models developed by the Department of Facility Services and the State Nursing Board
- Assist with and develops schedules for all classes for both programs.
- Instruct and evaluate students in courses assigned.
- Assist Occupational Healthcare Coordinator with all instructional activities within the program to include, but not limited to:
- Maintain suitable class records which show student class hours, academic progress, student grading system, etc.
- Attends required meetings for both programs.
- Development, maintenance, and evaluation of educational materials pertinent to Occupational Healthcare program needs.
- Demonstrate proper techniques in regard to mock skills training to prepare students for clinical and certification examination.
- Participate in professional development training as directed.
- Accept assignments as designated by the supervisor.
- Demonstrate proficiency in credential skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other colleagues and staff/conflict resolution.
- Demonstrated ability and experience working with diverse populations.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities relative to the Nursing Assistant Program and as assigned by the Occupational Healthcare Coordinator.
Supplemental Information:
- Must be able to lift objects from a lower to high position or move objects horizontally from position to position.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Must be able to apply pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
- Must have feeling in fingertips to detect size, shape, temperature, or texture.
- Must be able to stand for substantial periods of time.
- Must be able to extend arms and hands in any direction.
- Must have close visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work of students.
