4 years clinical experience required, community college teaching experience preferred

Position Description

Statement of Primary Purpose

Provide instructional services to nursing students both in the classroom and clinical setting.

 

Classification

Curriculum faculty, full-time, exempt

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

- Prepare and teach assigned courses in accordance with course outlines and published course schedule

- Maintain accurate records for each course taught

- Prepare, review, and update course outlines on a regular basis

- Recommend and assist with curriculum revisions as necessary

- Assist in student recruitment, advising, and retention

- Serve on college standing committees and attend meetings

- Participate in curriculum advisory committee meetings, if applicable

- Assist in selection and ordering of equipment, supplies, and textbooks

- Participate in college events and activities

- Attend college commencements

- Cooperate in scheduled student evaluations of instructor and course

- Keep regular posted office hours in accordance with college policy

- Submit all college reports in an accurate timely fashion

- Attend instructor and departmental meetings as scheduled

- Be responsible for professional development and maintaining professional competence

- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and others

- Provide advising and registration services to students

- Perform clinical education duties as assigned

- Assign and grade clinical education assignments and paperwork

- Serve as clinical coordinator when needed

- Assist in the selection and interviewing of new nursing cohort annually

- Be available to teach a 4-week summer course in addition to the regular curriculum

Standing required with Instructor-led courses and clinical visits

Working Conditions and Environment

Typical campus environment.  Travel for training and clinical visits as necessary

PC, copier, phones, standard office and educational applications.  Nursing equipment
