MS Azure Certification.

Office 365 Systems Administrator

OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY:

The Office 365 Systems Administrator provides support and maintenance for all Office 365 solutions and manages College web services. This position is responsible for the design, deployment, programming, testing and administration of new and existing SharePoint web services, the college website and document workflow processes. The Office 365 Systems Administrator also serves as the college SharePoint administrator and is responsible for long-range planning for development and administration of SharePoint services and forms.  This position works directly with stakeholders in evaluating needs and recommending and implementing content architecture and technical solutions.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs regular maintenance of the College website and web applications while maintaining uniformity, usability, accessibility, consistent standards, laws and trends
  • Identifies, researches, recommends, and implements Office 365 solutions and applications such as Teams, Flow, OneDrive, Forms, Bookings, SharePoint, etc.
  • Serves as SharePoint content management system administrator managing users, controlling access to document libraries, and setting permissions
  • Creates, updates, and maintains internal SharePoint web services for student and employee portals
  • Creates, updates, and maintains document workflow processes
  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues with SharePoint and document workflows and conducts regular site performance checks
  • Ensures compliance with guidelines and regulations associated with online presence, including accessibility standards
  • Develops and implements strategies to promote the use and application of SharePoint sites by faculty, staff, departments, committees, etc.
  • Reviews, edits and affirms all submitted internal sites for clarity and consistency with established guidelines and standards
  • Maintains and monitors college positioning, branding and tone in all internal SharePoint sites and to all external sites as needed
  • Analyzes, participates in development, and implements web-based video products as needed
  • Leads complete software development lifecycles, including analysis, design, configuring, programming, and testing for Microsoft based web technologies
  • Keeps up to date with SharePoint developments, version updates and upgrades
  • Conducts training and informational sessions to teach employees how to use SharePoint
  • Develops, maintains, and updates Office 365 governance documentation
  • Enters and clears service requests in the college’s helpdesk system
  • Participates in appropriate committees and task forces as assigned
  • Performs other job-related duties and projects as assigned in support of the College’s mission, core values and goals

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate’s degree in computer programming, information systems, information technology or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Office 365 and SharePoint
  • Working knowledge of website development, management, administration, and maintenance; graphics design and solutions and emerging trends in web design, functionality and usability
  • Knowledge of document workflow processes
  • Basic knowledge of Higher Education ERP system (Datatel Colleague)
  • Working knowledge of information security principles and practices and IT quality control processes
  • Technical support processes and protocol
  • System and application software and hardware including content management systems
  • Basic level of working knowledge and application of project management concepts

 

Skills

  • Strong skills in SharePoint administration 
  • Strong skills in HTML 5, CSS, MySQL, JavaScripts and graphic design
  • Skills in Envision, Java, Python, PHP
  • Requirements gathering, designing, prototyping, troubleshooting, and supporting users
  • Web scripting languages and digital imaging software
  • Proficiency in use of administrative computer software used by the North Carolina Community College System including Colleague and Informer
  • Effectively use a variety of spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software with emphasis on statistical charts, tables, and graphs
  • Effectively use organizational and planning skills, including attention to detail and follow-through to efficiently meet deadlines, schedules and target dates
  • Conduct research, analysis, audits, and quality assurance in relation to areas of responsibility
  • Track, troubleshoot, and resolve user problems
