Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in business education or related business discipline is required. The Applicant must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and have experience using office technology with the ability to work collaboratively with others. A valid North Carolina driver’s license with a driving record sufficient to be covered under the Wayne Community College auto policy is required. 

Preferred Qualifications

A Master’s degree is preferred. Two years of instructional experience is preferred. Familiar with teaching in a distance learning environment using Moodle or other learning management systems is preferred. Experience working with a diverse population to include students, parents, faculty, staff, and the general public is preferred. Proficiency in teaching office-related courses, such as keyboarding, word processing, records management, office management, and business English at the post-secondary level is preferred. A professional certification in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) and/or work experience in an office setting are preferred. Bilingual is preferred.

Position Description

The primary duty of the Office Administration Instructional is to teach traditional, hybrid, evening, and distance education courses in the Office Administration programs.  Other duties include recruiting, advising, and registering students; developing, planning, implementing, and evaluating curricula; preparing course syllabi and lesson plans; serving on assigned committees; participating in college activities and professional development opportunities; and performing other duties as assigned by the Department Chair and or the Dean. Teaching assignments may include on-campus and off-campus classes during the day, evening, weekend, and online.
