Position Description

Online Learning Project Manager position is available on the Central Campus. 

 

Overview
The Online Learning department is an instructional area that collaborates with all divisions/departments within the Academic Affairs Unit to support the development of quality online courses and programs found in technology-enabled learning environments.  

 

General Function

Provides leadership in the success of meeting project goals, on-time and on-budget.  Collaborates with online learning team and is charged with multiple responsibilities which includes delegation and review of work assignments to control the scope of projects, quality of deliverables, and flow of communications.  Manages and supports administrative processes related to ensuring quality online learning environments for students and faculty, as well as making sure all online teaching requirements are meeting CPCC and Federal requirements, such as ADA.

 

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

1.    Creates and utilizes a project management template that incorporates the five phases of a project life cycle – goal-setting, planning, executing, monitoring and closing.  Manages the intersection of the following components in the project plan: scope, integration, time, cost, quality, resources, communication, and stake holder management.  Manages multiple projects simultaneously.

2.    Creates and oversees projects dedicated to faculty development programming that supports progressive levels of competency in online delivery, and will also be used to audit completion records for OTC to ensure online faculty are meeting the required CPCC and Federal standards for quality.

3.    Develops and manages projects designed to improve students’ chances for success in online courses, such as implementing an online readiness assessment (OLI), expanding the online orientation, and providing academic and technological support.

4.    Monitors and controls the project work flow and manages any necessary changes to maintain ongoing, effective communication with project team members and key stakeholders (e.g. Deans, Division Directors and Program Chairs).

5.    Provides continuous planning such as developing schedules, activities, and estimating resources designed to uphold instructional best practices that support student success in technology-enable learning environments.

6.    Collaborates with the Online Learning team, staff, and administration to provide project management support across a variety of programs and initiatives that pertain to faculty and student learning opportunities, and the integration of quality standards for online course delivery.

7.    Spearhead efforts across the academic affairs unit to ensure the proper processes are in place for course migrations when moving to new learning management systems.  Provides project management to include change management, risk management and communication management to ensure all technical aspects of course migrations are completed successfully.

8.    Other duties as assigned.
