Three years of experience in a legal office or related environment and an Associate degree in Paralegal Technology or related field.
Must be proficient in the use of online research systems (the office currently uses LexisAdvance).
Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
Must have good typing skills and have excellent organizational and communication skills.
Fayetteville Technical Community College is seeking qualified applicants for this full-time position to perform legal research and a wide variety of responsible, confidential and complex legal secretarial, administrative and clerical duties for a Vice President, Associate Vice President or Assistant to the President. Qualified candidates will possess excellent computer skills, demonstrate evidence of a career that includes flexibility and willingness to change; open-mindedness, fairness and the ability to see multiple perspectives; a willingness to take risks, and willingness to accept responsibility for professional and personal growth.
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Conduct legal research and independently draft legal memoranda on a variety of topics such as higher education law, employment law, and contract law.
Draft, analyze, and edit legal documents and correspondence.
Audit student club accounts and make recommendations as needed for procedures necessary to ensure the integrity of the accounts.
Provide general office and administrative support to legal counsel including duties such as answering phones, maintaining calendars, processing travel requests, and requisitioning office supplies.
Maintain an efficient system of filing documents for easy retrieval, including both electronic and hard copy.
Strictly maintain the confidentiality of all legal matters to protect the attorney – client privilege.
Provide outstanding customer service at all times.
