Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's degree from an accredited institution 
  • A minimum of one year customer service experience
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work morning, day
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills 
  • Ability to work independently 
  • Ability to thoroughly assist with the informational needs of individuals 
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office 2010) and commitment to using technology 
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to change
  • Openness and willingness to engage in professional development activities
  • Ability to be self-directed as well as work effectively and collaboratively with others in a team environment
  • Familiarity with and appreciation for the mission of a comprehensive community college

Position Description

SUMMARY:

(This part-time position has no benefits and will not exceed 27 hours a week.  The position is needed to work morning and day, typically 8-5 pm.)
 

The Part-time Administrative Support Staff provides general administrative support to the Davie Campus and may occasionally support the Davie Education Center. The candidate will work in a team environment with other college staff to provide information, services, and technical support for the campus's various functions, including continuing education, curriculum, admissions, and other areas of the College. An understanding of the College processes and administrative structure is essential. This position reports to the Dean of the Davie Campus. The Part-time Administrative Support Staff has the following responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Provide customer service by greeting and assessing the needs of students, faculty and staff
  • Maintain daily office management, operations and services
  • Data Entry using Colleague
  • Continuing Education course set up and follow up
  • Register and receipt curriculum and continuing education students
  • Assist in reconciliation of bank records on a daily basis
  • Assist in daily bank deposits
  • Phone Coverage
  • Work with the College Bookstore to order and sell textbooks and supplies
  • Perform other duties as assigned that support the College mission and initiatives
  • Promote College mission, vision and values
