Minimum Qualifications
Required:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited institution
- A minimum of one year customer service
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication
- Ability to thoroughly assist with the informational needs of individuals
- Demonstrated strong organizational and planning skills
- Strong computer skills and commitment to using technology
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to change
- Able to work evenings
- Openness and willingness to engage in professional development activities
- Ability to be self-directed as well as work effectively and collaboratively with others in a team environment
- Familiarity with and appreciation for the mission of a comprehensive community college

Position Description
The Part-time Administrative Support Staff position is responsible for providing administrative support to the Learning Commons. The position reports to the Director, Learning Commons and has the following responsibilities:
- Provide customer service at the Learning Commons Welcome Desk by assessing the needs of students, faculty, and staff
- Provide students with requested information, thoroughly explain the information, and make referrals within the Learning Commons or College as appropriate
- Maintain sensitivity, understanding and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds
- Provide administrative support for the Learning Commons
- Answer and appropriately direct incoming calls, and return voicemail and email in a timely manner
- Assist students with tutoring sign in and out
- Assist in scheduling and checking in students for testing appointments
- Maintain confidentiality and security by following FERPA regulations, carefully monitoring student records while at the Welcome Desk, and properly storing all student records
- Assist in maintaining a quality learning and testing environment following policies and procedures
- Assist with data entry and reports as needed
- Provide general computer assistance to students such as helping students print and navigating College and online tutoring platforms
- Troubleshoot, document, and communicate technical difficulties related to services
- Appropriately communicate academic integrity violations and behavioral issues to the Director, Learning Commons
- Maintain open, robust, and timely communication with colleagues and supervisor
- Maintain currency of knowledge related to Learning Commons services
- Participate in professional development to enhance skills in meeting the needs of students
- Promote College mission, vision, and values
- Perform other duties as assigned that support the College mission and initiatives
