Minimum Qualifications
minimum of an Associate Degree or 5 years experience in an administrative support position or as a small business owner.
Associates Degree from an accredited institution
Strong oral and written communication skills
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to deliver excellent customer service
Ability to appropriately handle confidential information
Ability to work effectively and collegially with others in a team environment
Strong organizational skills, with an ability to multi-task as well as manage information
Ability to be flexible and adaptable
Ability to travel within the Davidson and Davie County service area as appropriate
Familiarity with and appreciation for the mission of a comprehensive community college
Willingness to work a flexible schedule on occasions, including evenings and weekends
Working knowledge of computer databases, MS Office Suite, primarily Word and Excel
Good written and oral communication skills

DCCC faculty and staff are passionate about equity and our responsibility to work with each unique student to support them in successfully attaining their goals.RESPONSIBILITIES:The Part-time Administrative Support Staff, Workforce Development and Continuing Education is a part-time position responsible for support of the planning, development, implementation, and reporting processes of continuing education programs. This position specifically supports the Small Business Center, a part of Workforce Development and Continuing Education. The Part-time Administrative Support Staff will provide support to ensure effective Small Business Center programming and excellent customer service among the College and its instructors, 3rd party training providers, and state and local community partners. This position will report to the Director of the DCCC Small Business Center and has the following responsibilities:
Set up continuing workshops and seminars in CenterIC, prepare course packets and verify class information for audit purposes
Set up contracts and instructional agreements for full-time faculty, part-time adjunct instructors and contracted services
Prepare, enter and process purchase orders for instructional supplies and other materials
Complete all paperwork and computer entry accurately and in a timely fashion
Greet and manage contact with instructors, students and community partners
Receive and respond to phone and e-mail inquiries
Maintain collaborations and establish rapport within the College, as well as among community partners, including College clients and state and local agencies
Develop/maintain a database of Small Business events, instructional costs and other data as needed
Enter/compile class and program information and generate monthly or periodic reports
Organize file and records
Prepare certificates associated with the completion of continuing education classes and programs
Assist as appropriate with course and program registration
Assist in the development of operations manuals, policies and procedures, and best practices
Assist with training room AV set-up as needed
Assist in the development of educational events in online and in-class formats
Attend College meetings and serve on College committees as requested
Perform other duties as assigned that support the Mission and initiatives of the College
Effectively utilize MS Office Suite to create Word documents and Excel spreadsheets to assist in reporting and promoting SBC initiatives
