Minimum Qualifications

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English- written, read, spoken
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent years of relevant experience
  • Consistent availability to work evenings and weekends
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collegially with others and effectively without close supervision
  • Ability to provide leadership in anticipating and responding to change
  • Ability to maintain high level of sensitivity, understanding, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a community college or school setting

Prior marketing or sales experience

This position is a 12-month contract, which includes coordinating on-site programs, developing summer camps, and promoting the Uptown Lexington Center classes and programs. This position reports directly to the Director of Community Engagement and Latino Programs.  This Part-time Bilingual Coordinator position includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities:

 

Responsibilities:

  • Promotes College mission, values, and vision

 

  • Assists with and/or coordinates courses and summer camps in classroom and/or practical settings to meet program needs including day, evening, weekend, and online courses

 

  • Evaluates student(s) progress and provides appropriate feedback

 

  • Explores, assesses, and implements appropriate instructional technology to enhance student learning outcomes

 

  • Assists in developing, organizing, implementing, and administering a program(s) of continuing education (non-credit) courses to provide educational opportunities in his/her particular area of responsibility

 

  • Assists in the recruitment and orientation of new instructors to include a review of Continuing Education Instruction Manual and requirements for record keeping

 

  • Assists in scheduling and set up of classes

 

  • Proctoring exams

 

  • Participates in activities necessary to maintain program compliance with regulatory agencies

 

  • Assists in the evaluation of courses and programs

 

  • Prepares and submits instructional records, reports, and grades established by institutional policy

 

  • Works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and external agencies

 

  • Attends appropriate College and community partner meetings

 

  • Assists in student recruitment and retention

 

  • Maintains appropriate office hours and accessibility for students, faculty and staff

 

  • Maintains supplies and equipment relevant to educational and student needs

 

  • Participates in professional development to enhance instructional and technical skills and to remain current with knowledge, changes, and new technology

 

  • Performs other tasks as assigned, which support the mission and initiatives of the College
