Minimum Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent and willing to be available during all hours the Child Care Center is open. *A North Carolina Early Childhood Credential is required. Applicants must be willing to obtain a TB Test, health screenings, and the North Carolina Division of Child Development and Early Education Criminal Background Check prior to the first day of employment. A current CPR and First Aid certification is required or must be willing to obtain this training and certification within six weeks of the start date.                                        

*If the NC Early Childhood Credential is not presented at time of hire, the applicant must be willing to enroll in Intro to Early Childhood Education (EDU 119), within 6 months of hire and apply for the North Carolina Early Childhood Credential immediately upon successful completion of the course.

 

Preferred Qualifications

An Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or current enrollment in an Early Childhood program of study; experience working with children ages 0-5; bilingual and a National Career Readiness Certificate are preferred.

 

Position Description

The caregiver must be willing to work with lead teachers in all age groups, 6 weeks-5 years, and implement the daily program of developmentally appropriate practices and activities for children.  The caregiver must be willing to assist with identifying each child’s capabilities and needs and assuring the welfare, health and safety of the children in the group. Additionally, the caregiver must attend pre-service and in-service training as required, including, but not limited to SIDS training and First Aid/CPR; maintain compliance with the  North Carolina Child Care requirements; and perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Teachers and/or Center Director.

If selected for employment, the applicant must submit to a criminal background check and drug screening.
