·         Bachelor’s degree in education or related field

·         One year customer service experience

·         One year computer experience including Microsoft Word and Excel

·         Strong written communication and email etiquette

·         Ability to use computers and software to support instruction

·         Experience in an educational setting

Position Description

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:  The College and Career Readiness Distance Education Specialist is an instructional position that will work in conjunction with the Lead Instructor for College and Career Readiness to assist students enrolled in online programs to prepare for the High School Equivalency exam.

College and Career Readiness staff and instructors are expected to participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the development of the College and Career Readiness program.

This is a part-time position scheduled Monday – Thursday from 2:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

A temporary at-will contract will be prepared for each term.

 

 

DUTIES:

College and Career Readiness instructors help prepare students for post-secondary education or a career by improving their reading, writing, and math skills, preparing for the high school equivalency exam, learning English, and improving their general academic skills.

The Distance Education Specialist serves as the instructor for students enrolled in online programs to prepare for their High School Equivalency exam.

Duties can include, but are not limited, to assisting online students, grading online submissions, attendance entry, tracking pre/post-test progress, setting up student accounts and enrolling students in classes, advising and retention calls and meetings, accurate record keeping, and weekly and monthly paperwork submission.
