Position Description

The ConEd Advisor serves student in the college’s 96-hour Workforce Development Programs to aid with student success in completing their respective program and to move toward successful completion of a licensure exam in support of the aims of the Underserved Student Outreach & Advising Grant. 

This part-time position is expected to work 20-25 hours per week.  

This position is funded by the Underserved Outreach and Advising Grant.

  1. Serve as the first contact to student expressing interest in these programs.
  2. Provide comprehensive guidance and advising to students seeking to enroll in these programs.
  3. Confirm with the Enrollment Services are the student’s admission application process and complete the student’s enrollment/registration for the appropriate course or courses. 
  4. Provide regular contact to students after enrollment to maintain supportive communication and assistance, and to provide support and/or resources to assist students in successful completion of the program.
  5. Assist students with steps to register for the appropriate licensure exams.
  6. Manage the process for students’ requests for test fee scholarships using designated procedures. 
  7. Participate in opportunities to recruit interested students in these programs.
  8. Track and report student contacts for inclusion in monthly and quarterly reporting.
